Process Serving

Legal Documents Served. Proof of Service Guaranteed.

Effective service of legal documents is a critical step in any legal proceeding. ODM Legal Services provides professional process serving across the UK and internationally, ensuring that documents are served correctly, promptly, and with verified proof of service that meets the requirements of the courts.

What is Process Serving?

Process serving is the formal delivery of legal documents — including claim forms, injunctions, divorce petitions, statutory demands, and witness summonses — to the named recipient in accordance with the rules of the relevant court or jurisdiction. Correct service is a legal requirement in most proceedings, and failure to serve documents properly can result in delays, additional costs, or the invalidation of proceedings.

ODM Legal Services provides professional process serving by experienced agents who understand the legal requirements for valid service in England and Wales, Scotland, and internationally. We provide a full affidavit or certificate of service on completion, giving solicitors and their clients the verified proof of service required to proceed with confidence.

How We Work

1

On receipt of instructions, we confirm the documents to be served, the identity and last known address of the recipient, any relevant court deadlines, and the specific requirements for valid service in the applicable jurisdiction. For urgent matters, we can deploy a process server the same day.

2

Our process servers attend the recipient's address and effect personal service in accordance with the applicable rules. Where personal service cannot be effected at the first attempt, we make further attempts and — if instructed — can conduct tracing enquiries to establish a current address for the recipient.

3

On completion of service, we provide a full affidavit or certificate of service, together with any supporting evidence such as photographs. The affidavit is prepared to the standard required by the relevant court and is suitable for filing in proceedings without further amendment.

Professional Process Serving to Court Standards

All process serving carried out by ODM Legal Services is conducted in strict compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules, the Insolvency Rules, the Family Procedure Rules, and the requirements of the relevant court or jurisdiction. As members of the Association of British Investigators (ABI), we adhere to the ABI Code of Conduct and operate to the highest professional and ethical standards. Our affidavits and certificates of service are prepared to evidential standards and are accepted by the courts of England and Wales.
